Hot on the heels of Kidulthood is a new movie based this time in North London.
Word from the CEO of the label producing this movie is that it is almost due for release. The trailer is running on the website (www.londonstateofmind.co.uk).

Ghanaians
On the weekend of Ghanaian Independence we have prepared a small peice on two influential Ghanaians who were key in the changes in the politics and life of Ghanaians.
Nkrumah, Kwame (1909-1972)
Kwame Nkrumah became the first prime and later president of Ghana. He was born on September 21, 1909, at Nkroful in what was then the British-ruled Gold Coast, the son of a goldsmith. Trained as a teacher, he went to the United States in 1935 for advanced studies and continued his schooling in England, where he helped organize the Pan-African Congress in 1945. He returned to Ghana in 1947 and became general secretary of the newly founded United Gold Coast Convention but split from it in 1949 to form the Convention People's party(CPP). After his 'positive action' campaign created disturbances in 1950, Nkrumah was jailed, but when the CPP swept the 1951 elections, he was freed to form a government, and he led the colony to independence as Ghana in 1957. A firm believer in African liberation, Nkrumah pursued a radical pan-African policy, playing a key role in the formation of the Organization of African Unity in 1963. As head of government, he was less successful however, and as time passed he was accused of forming a dictatorship. In 1964 he formed a one-party state, with himself as president for life, and was accused of actively promoting a cult of his own personality. Overthrown by the military in 1966, with the help of western backing, he spent his last years in exile, dying in Bucharest, Romania, on April 27, 1972. His legacy and dream of a "United States of African" still remains a goal among many.
Nkrumah was the motivating force behind the movement for independence of Ghana, then British West Africa, and its first president when it became independent in 1957. Yaa Asantewaa (c. 1840-1921) was appointed Queen Mother of Edweso, a state in the Asante union in Ghana, by her brother, Nana Akwasi Afrane Okpese.During her brother's reign, Yaa Asantewwa saw the Ashanti Kingdom fall into a terrible spell. King Nana Akwasi Afrane Okpese wanted to expand the Ashanti Confederacy into an empire as great as that of Ghana Empire and the Europeans. Thus war was declared on the Fante and Ga, and new alliances were formed with the Dutch and then with the British, which resulted in the loss of the Dutch alliance. To obtain firearms, the King sold his own people as slaves; he also used slaves to build his palace. Many died under his reign. Upset and distressed by her brother's deeds, Yaa Asantewwa rebelled. Yaa Asantewwa's rebellion was a major blow to her brother's plans, because she had the support of the people of Edweso, as well as the Fante people situated in near and around Kumasi. When her brother died in about 1894, Yaa Asantewaa used her prerogative as Queen Mother to nominate her own grandson as King of Edweso. When her grandson was sent into exile in 1896, Yaa Asantewwa became regent. After the British deported the King of the Asante, she became leader in the war of resistance in 1900, supported by some male leaders.Eyewitness accounts from Edweso indicate that Yaa Asantewaa herself did not physically take up arms to fight. Rather, she was a tactician, strategist, and inspirational leader. She visited the soldiers in the battlefield to ascertain how they were faring. She also gave directions and advice and supplied gunpowder. Eventually, Queen Yaa Asantewaa was captured, but by whom remains a mystery, as does her ultimate fate. When news of Kano’s concert being cancelled reached the street level immediately there were parallels drawn between the way in which So Solid were locked down in their hey day. The surprise, which was most peoples reaction was due to the fact that Kano has never been at the center of a public scandal of the same nature of those from So Solid.
At the beginning of the performance Kano did talk about the previous concert that did not happen and sounded hurt at the cancellation, he also mentioned the significance of the night. As he was not being paid it was “all love”.
Nevertheless Kano returned with a next date early this month to give the fan what they had been waiting for. The venue was London Astoria, a significant venue for many reasons. The night proved that the scene has lot riding for it and that it can be the forefront a musical revolution. The crowd was very mixed and was probably what Kano has become used to after doing a nationwide tour.
Kano performed a good few tracks from the album “home sweet home”, those who are familiar will know Ps and Qs, typical me and the current track, brown eyes. Then the usual stage show ensued, with a performance from former members of his old crew in the style of a dj set from sidewinder. It seemed some of the crowd was not familiar with this format, in my opinion this is the most important part of being a UK artist: staying true to your roots, the same ethos held Hip Hop legends that made their scene what it is today.
Unfortunately the night seemed half finished when the curtains were called at 9.30. I feel this was not what the crowd were looking for and that particular move made the “concert” seem as if it was not on a par with other shows.

BUFF FILM FESTIVAL UPDATE
Its’ been 2 months since its’ high profile launch at ITV and already, organisers of the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) have had to extend the deadline for entries ahead of announcing their shortlist later next month. BUFF has been billed as the UK’s biggest competitive festival of its’ kind, creating 3 competition categories: (Best) Feature, (Best) Short Film & (Best) Music Video.In addition, there will be a showcase of selected films & music videos for broadcast on-line and on-air as well as behind-the-scenes programming chronicling the festival, filmmakers & independent cinema. Sources at BUFF Enterprises have confirmed that they’re currently accepting submissions through until Tuesday February 21 in the aforementioned 
categories.Selected films will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and will compete for a ‘buffy’ award, voted for by the general public. All winners will be announced at ‘The Buffies’ awards ceremony, the climax to the British Urban Film Festival in late Spring 2006.The 8 day event also includes first-run features, documentaries & short films from the UK and abroad. One Samurai - more A to Z
More street than the A to Z presented by one SamuraiDJ Samurai is a hip-hop producer from the UK who also ghost writers (weak rhymers apply here), spits, and DJ’s. Recently he has turned his hands to the camera.
The product that landed on the streets was a take on the legendary A-Z maps that tell you everything about how to get to where you are going. The analogy is quite obvious. If you want to know about the scene then get this in your DVD collect.
The highlights are the news and views from the artists that have been coming up on the streets last year. Kila Kela features, as does Lethal, Jammer and Skepta. Fire camp, Kalashnekoff, Sway and Aftershock also represent the hustlers ethic that runs through the UK Street Scene.
Thee quality of the edit lets the DVD down, but this is made up for by the amount of exclusive skits, freestyles and interviews. Watch out for the next instalment coming very soon. Also check out the trailer for a big UK produced feature called “rollin with the nines”, Winner of the Raindance award in 2005.

A line up you’d want on your 21st birthday, but the night was a bit mellower than I expected. Lethal B, Twista and Fire Camp represented fully with a good repertoire of tracks including everyone’s favourite one “Oi”.
Roll Deep left me a bit disappointed, they were in most people’s opinion the main event. However problems with the mics and sound levels meant that the set did not flow. My expectation of a grime set was met with around 5 tracks, and an album showcase. High points were mostly on the album tracks. But al that was probably because they had just landed from a big set at 333.
Skinnyman did a good range of tracks and finished off spitting over bashment, the freestlying was too much for people standing next to me, I almost got brushed aside, but that’s not me. Skinny did a couple of old ones and then it was time for Faith SFX.
The UK beatbox champ “murked” with his trademark version of Genuwines’ Pony a. I do like the way that Faith reps for the grime crew, the beat boxing is just like a next6 way to bring more dimension to the scene. Make sure you check this guy out at the “urban classic” event on the 16th of February.

Blakey was on point as per usual, with a good selection of UK and US beats and dubs. All in all a mellow night, nothing near the standards of the Run the Road launch parties. Luckily I didn’t pay to get in so I wasn’t that disappointed, the crowd didn’t seem to mind the regular mosh pit at the front and middle of the room was in full effect.

BEN Television (Bright Entertainment Network), which broadcasts on Sky Digital has agreed a deal with organisers of the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) which includes the rights to broadcast ‘The Search for BUFF’ – a nationwide personality contest featuring high street auditions in order to find a face for the festival or as one source puts it, the UK’s buffest peeps. The 13 x 30-minute series will also feature interviews with so-called buff pundits including Antoinette Williams (pictured – from Channel 5’s “Make Me a Supermodel”) who offer expert analysis on the topic of loving oneself.
In each show, viewers will be asked to vote by text for the buffest passers-by who then proceed to the grand final, to be staged at the inaugural British Urban Film Festival in Stratford, East London. Freelance producers Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe & Bernard Kordieh will make the show for BUFF Enterprises who developed the format. The series premieres on Saturday at 7.30pm on Sky Digital (*channel 148).

rinsesession
Late review but better later than never! The event was good. The turnout was amazing for the night it was on, cold, wednesday, before new years eve. Props to the promoter.
The night started off with old skool in the baby box. but the night did not really warm up till riko and gift jumped on the set. Roll deep murked, full marks for dropping old skool as welll as grime. As did essentials and meridian. plastician was on point as was bossman who hit the decks hard with nuff dub plates.
The bouncers tried in vain to calm down the mosh pit...(pictures on the slideshow link below trim) not to mention stopping artists getting in and out of the dj box and making them take new era hats off, and making the murkle guy come down off the top of the dj box (ok, ill let them off on that one because he could have fallen and bruk himself).. Have they no respect!! all in all a gd night.

MUSICODA
free promotion can never be a bad thing so listen up!
Animation pranksters The Brothers McLeod have launched an online music portal called MUSICODA to promote and find music, and in the process provide funds for their first feature-length animated film
The first 1,000 spaces (10,000 pixels) are free.
All you need to do is send a 10x10 pixel image, along with the web address of your band website to myles@musicoda.com while free spaces last. Hurry hurry as spaces are being eaten up rapidly!

Probably the most successful independent artist this scene has got, he is still unsigned and showing the major how to do it, do it. The story begins with Sway producing music at 15, it didn’t take long for him to pick up a mic and start rapping. At 16 Sway first rose to prominence with the collective One. Now 23 Sway’s name is on the tip of everyone’s tongue.
He went from freestyling in school as a joke to battling in cyphers held in Camden Town. Like most other artists in the scene sway did the battling thing and it helped him grow, getting props from the old G s around him. But sway says that his career really took off when he started making tacks instead of just battling. He went bar for bar with Doc Brown, who hosted the night, Chester P and Reveal, who was in the crowd somewhere. Even though he got beat by Chester he impressed Taskforce so much that they invited him onto a track, which was t be sways first track. … what would I give for a copy of that…. Hmm?
I couldn’t get my hands on it anyway, but I got the two mixtapes, ‘This Is My Promo, Volume 1’, ‘This Is My Promo, Volume 2’… the albums are done in he classic mixtape style with freestyles over other beats and homemade beats. Make sure you get these to educate yourself in the game. Then you might be ready for the album, which drops at the end of January. . ‘This Is My Demo’
The first time I caught this guy live was in Brighton, while he was opening up for Dizzie. It was not the greatest show but he we the appetite of people around me in the crowd, so I knew that the guy was something spesh. That was around a year ago, maybe more and look how the levels have picked up.
Sway has also found time to make an appearance on Eminem’s radio show; and, touch down on tracks with Taz, Sharky Major, Biggz, Terri Walker, The Mitchells, and Mike Skinner.
The north Londonite is on heavy rotation, I think I hear his name on average every other day, from peers, people listening to music on public transport… the buzz is mad. Something like when Dizzie dropped. With one MOBO under his belt and a channel U award, he can only move up. Keeping up the high tempo pace Sway has also been nominated for 2 Mobo Awards: ‘Best UK Newcomer’ and ‘Best Hip-hop Artist’; as well as a Channel U ‘Best Of British’ award.

Biggz first emerged on to the UK music scene with his stand out appearance on the remix of Taz’z Single ‘Cowboy film’ with Sway and Sharky Major. This led onto his mixtapes The Big Inning Vol 1 and 2. ‘The Big Inning Volume 2’ featured guest appearances from the cream of UK Talent Sway, Sincere, S.A.S and more. Vol 2 also featured Biggz warm up single ‘Cor Blimey’ which was an instant addition to radio playlists around the country and the accompanying video reached number 3 on the MTV Base chart and was in the top 5 Channel U chart for months. Biggz can also be heard on the remix of Sway’s ‘Up your speed’.In 2006 Biggz will be releasing his debut album through his co-owned Alliance Records (who are also co-releasing Sway’s debut album). With Biggz’s personality, talent, and street rep and from hearing previews of Biggz new material it looks like he’s well on his way to the top and owning 2006. He and a cousin created a label from the body of Alliance and Dcypha. The first piece of visual artwork was the up your speed video. At that point the group did not have any major influence in the scene apart form the street hype that they were making. But they were blessed to meet Dan Greenpeace who added some clout to what hey already had by helping with marketing and distribution.
After Biggz did his bit it was pyrelli’s turn on stage, with DJ Turkish, the only Ghanaian Turk, big shout out to my home gal Miss Akueter the only Ghanaian Scot. Sway then graced the crowd with his usual style and the usual intro; you know the only about signing on and the British love of tea and sandwhiches (what’s wrong with sandwhiches? prêt a mange?). He was on a little later than billed on the flyer; I’m guessing this was just some sort of suspense building action. The crowd did not really warm to sway even though he was on point, even the shame of being more wack than Ugandan crowds didn’t make the crowd more responsive…
Sway did all the usual hits and some new stuff, we got Pepsi, which wetted the crowd a little but not enough… sway then introduced the Mitchell bros in style by doing a almost perfect impression of Mr Skinner, which was followed by Harvey Nicks. What a classic especially the coarse African accents.
Sway brought pyrelli back on for the home straight, which obviously meant had had to do up your speed. Then it was time to reminisce about teenage mutant turtles, rainbow and the magic roundabout. The latter was the title of a track that had me reaching for my transformers sandwich box, jokes.
Then sway changed the tempo and got a little more serious with a track about gun crime. Below is an extract from an article in which Sway talks about gun crime
“Personally, I think that the message that the Metropolitan Police is trying to show is that if you know someone’s got a gun, you should snitch on them! In my opinion, that’s not going to help, ‘cos if you snitch and they find out, then that’s another gun crime. Snitching is not going to help. It’s probably the worst thing to do on road, you get me? What the police need to do is find out where all these guns are coming from; if you can stop the source, then all these youths wouldn’t have access to it. But at the end of the day it’s an awkward situation, I mean if someone runs up on you with a gun, what are you going to do? You’re thinking maybe I should get a gun so this thing doesn’t happen again and then it just starts getting deeper and deeper from there. Before you know it, everyone on road has got one, just to protect themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I acknowledge the police are trying to bring gun crime down, but snitching isn’t the way!”
You can kind of see where the guy is going with that, but to get more of a flavour for him, get the mixtapes and hold your breath until the album drops. The album is out in January, January the 30th to be exact, watch out for more projects from the Dcypha camp. Sway has got 1 Mobo under his belt and managed to get a full page spread in the metro, and you know how widespread that paper is, so his name is out there. If you are reading this then you know about sway, don’t get left behind or let some one tell you about him. Don’t be surprised if you find a track on the album you like even if you don’t listen to UK Street beats.

classical grime
Its all about breaking barriers and pushing the scene fwd like the monthly night at plastic peoples. Grime for want of a better word has many influences, one of which is classical music, so its not a suprise that the two respective cultures would meet sooner or later.
Figures from the UK's grime music scene are teaming up with the BBC Concert Orchestra to create and perform a 70-minute suite. Urban Classic will unite grime producer DaVinChe with jazz musician Jason Yarde and conductor Charles Hazlewood. Written with help from young musicians, the grime, hip hop and classical suite will be performed at Hackney Empire.
Highlights from the 16 February concert will be broadcast on BBC digital station 1Xtra and BBC Radio 3.
1Xtra's programmes editor, Willber Willberforce, said: "Each organisation and individual will bring together their unique talents and knowledge to create something very special.”It will be a first for our listeners and push the UK's emerging grime scene ever forward”. Bruza, Tor, Pase, Purple and beatboxer Faith SFX will perform the finished suite with the BBC Concert Orchestra, with DJ sets from 1Xtra's Semtex and Cameo.

thats rinse sessions for those who cant read. This night is set to be huge, previous nights of note were run the roads at fabric but there have not been many other nights this year in a "super club".... So the media will be watching this night like hawks.
It would be great to get all the people who are trying to push the scene out on this night, be sure to bring your networking tools and your open ears and raving tools. There should nt be any beef becuase its crimbo and its all about turkeys, but there are no turkeys on the line up...

If the films on show were anything to go by the British film industry is in a good position to do big things... but why the picture of the gerk?After looking out from the 18 floor of itv's london hq I actually realised how buff london is at night... the gerk building particularly stands out as well as the eye and all the bridges... with backdrops like these london is definitely set to become the scene for some major pieces of art...

BUFF & BLACK UK FILM
Thank you for making bfi Black World such a success…The bfi Black World initiative, launched June 2 2005, is now over. During that time, over 40 national events took place with 30 institutional and community partners.
It’s been a major journey launching with seminal filmmakers such as Melvin van Peebles and Ousmane Sembene through to a pioneering tour of classic and contemporary black British films in local and alternative venues.
However, if you would like a more first-hand experience of bfi Black World, visit the newly launched Nu-Visions website. Designed and produced by young (16-24 years old) journalists, writers and reviewers, Nu-Visions offers reports of bfi Black World events as well as useful guides and signposts to getting into the industry, professional diaries and profiles of new and developing black British film talent.
Another legacy project set to launch next year is 100 Black Screen Icons in partnership with Every Generation Media. The world’s first on-line poll of its kind, 100 Black Screen Icons will offer an opportunity to vote for your favourite international black screen icon over the past 100 years. BUFF offers individual filmmakers the opportunity for industry recognition, market distribution, digital satellite transmission, theatrical release, Internet exposure, and market return.
The official launch of BUFF 2006 was staged at ITV London Headquarters in Waterloo on Tuesday 13 December 2005 the crowd was a good size and gave a personal feel to the event, there were filmmakers, press associates, partner organisations such as ITV London, Film London and The Hip-Hop Association (USA). there was a small sample exclusive and preview of screenings from the line-up of films and showcases to be scheduled as part of the inaugural festival in March – to be held in Stratford, East London.

UK street sounds is throwing a party to celebrate another step in the right direction for the UK street music scene.

Shebu pays tribute to the bomb victims
Huge line up plus its for a good cause plus its in the manor.Don't really want to go into the politics and talk about the bombings but people did pass away so it would be a great show of solidarity if the place was packed out. It just goes to show that music can influence society....

Overground should really be called underground… but then that would mean that we are lighting a lamp and keeping it under a bushel, and its not that time at all…
Overground takes music from outside the mainstream and showcases its. In the last year it seems that the movement has really come of age, and events like this are key to the core of what we are trying to achieve. This was not just an event for ravers; there were photographers, journalists, and industry professionals.
The turnout was impressive for a dangerously cold Wednesday night, but the line up demanded a good-sized crowd. The main genres represented were, bashment, and the UK spit scene. But there was a funk rock act, rnb from Nathan, and African hip-hop.
Savana took the stage first and blessed the crowd with the bashment vibe, this set the pace for Ruby Classic. Along side Ruby was Stammer who dropped some bars over some bashment tracks and some more well known beats. Watch out for new bits from those artists. Next we had the sultry voice of BabyChan, 1/3 of the Suncycle crew. The rest of the group jumped on stage later with JD, who was adamant that he was there to “hentertain”. JD manages to squeeze a violinist, a break dancing emcee, Nathan, Whitey, Midas, Bashy, and Suncycle on stage before ending with a few of his bits.
In between the bashment and JD we had Funky DL, fresh from Japan with some old and new bits. I was feeling the use of the Michael Jackson sample. The UK spit scene was represented further with some New Shape music from Unorthodox. And that’s Unorthodox not NoLay as she reminded the host and the crowd. Watch out for new bits from this camp and a cameo from NoLay on Shystie's new drama.
Nathan repped for the ladies crew with his street anthem “come into my room” and “round and round” his new piece currrently on rotation on the U network. If you have not got Sky you can join the campaign to get U on to the freeview and cable networks, go to the site to find out more.
The prizes for innovation and novelty had to go to JJC and The Thirst. Afropean hip hop and funk rock respectively. The Thirst are a south London collective, to hear what they sound like hit up the email address and get a free sample. You will be pleasantly surprised. JJC managed to educate the masses on a little bit of Nigerian culture and drew parallels between US, Caribbean and UK black culture.
Unfortunately we did not get to see SLK but hopefully you can catch them at the next Underground sorry I mean Overground in March when it should be a little warmer outside. Full marks to Akosua, the big cheese at Overground, check her out in the New Nation.

This night was big; I got to admit I was only there for the main room sets. The line up was Sway featuring Pyrelli and Biggz. Not forgetting the Scratch Perverts and emcee Dynamite, plus the massive Dirtee Stank showcase.
Dizzee was very big, he did his thing, a little was missing, the crowd was live but not as hype as I thought they would be. I was expecting to get a sidewinder style set from Dizzee, some real gully material. But Dizzee seems to have moved on and his style is much bigger and more professional. The mix of garage, concept and hip hop was crafty. Full marks to Semtex who kept the vibes bubbling all night.
Semtex defiantly educated the masses by mixing some dirty south, west and east coast and some concept style beats. The pictures tell a good story but to get the full story you had to be there. People queued for hours and still did not get in. Does sardine can mean anything to you? Well it must have been like that when the crowd’s final dissolved into the club…
I have to thank the XL recording press department for the hook up, (cheers Steve) although it would have been great to get some exclusive time with the rascal. Instead we managed to catch up with Jammer and also Stanza from Scandalous Unlimited. Jammer has just touched back down in the country that day, not sure exactly where from because the music was too loud. Stanzas collective is about the shake up the whole game with a Mixtape the eye of the tiger. The vibes are dangerous and you will hear a load of artists that should have bussed ages ago. If you want to clue your self up go and cop the renegade boys “the interview” and the second edition of run the roads for the Dynasty track. Also check the Dynasty boys on Shystie’s new drama called “Dubplate Drama”….
So that the “Eye Of The Tiger Volume One CD Compilation” and breaking the rules. Watch out for “maths an English” from the Rascal which will be dropping mid spring or summertime 06. I can’t wait for the 06 season to kick in. I think everyone is calming down and preparing for news years and Christmas, and it’s usually quiet up until March when we get the WMC…
But the scene here does not ever seem to sleep, the game keeps moving at a blistering rate. Sways blistering “up your speed” got a good response, as did “flo fashion”. Check the pics for more action. Biggz came on and made people say “cor blimey” and pyrelli did his thing when sway sat back and chilled with thoughts of his recent mobo.
The scratch perverts were on point as always, and we got to give them props all the way for putting on the night itself, all I got to say is please sir can I have some more.. Hopefully we should be able to hook up some words from the rascal and his new signings so the squad, if you don’t catch it here then wait for it in the Westminster smoke magazine.

Garage Fever

The weekend was kind of busy, but what can you do, you can’t look a gift horse in the mouth as they say. After hitting fabric on Friday, I wanted to chill and just enjoy a night out. So I got my garms on and reached Wembley.
Silver spoon was the venue, not sure what the capacity is but it was kind of rammed. The ladies crew were looking special, just one word to describe the vibe…. Wow. There was a good vibe, there was no trouble, except for a small disturbance towards the end of the night that dulled the Heartless Crew set which is a shame as we were all waiting for them to hit the stage.
It was nice to catch some old school vibes; if anyone was at Herbal on Friday then it would be great to get a report from the roads. It was a hard choice between Cameo, MJ Cole and Wookie, but im gona catch up with the prolific crew next month.

At garage fever I managed to catch up with Freeze Fm dj Benne Gee. Mr Gee has a show on freeze in the mornings, playing slow jams and wake up slowly tracks.. He also has a new e.p. out on the roads. It’s called “breaking the rules”. Get down to uptown and get that if you are the old school tip.

The main feature will be the award- winning Rosa Parks' Story starring academy award-winning actress Angela Bassett , but we will also present films which show other African women who have made a stand and changed society.

The Rosa Parks Story
Angela Bassett was nominated for an Emmy award for her portrayal of Rosa Parks in 2002. We see her life as a child growing up in the deep south and later as the woman who refuses to give up her seat in 1955, 10 years after African-Americans had fought and died for ‘democracy’ in World War 2.
This compelling true story demonstrates the power a singe act of defiance can have over an ancient tradition of injustice.
Claudia Jones Story
A journalist ,civil rights activist, refugee Claudia Jones is not recognised enough for her contributions to black British history.
Apart from editing the West Indian Gazette in the 1950’s and campaigning against the colour bar she was also responsible for establishing the annual Carnival we now call Notting Hill.
This short documentary on her life will give you lots of information about the civil rights movement in this country .

Dub plate drama, is real…. After we had lord of the decks, we had bullet boy, now we got a sitcom. Seems like the scene is moving at an amazing rate. Let’s hope it comes together.
Dubplate Drama, the worlds first interactive mobile, online, terrestrial and digital television drama series. Currently on Channel 4, E4, E4+, MTV, MTV BASE, PSP and 3(mobile network).
Dubplate drama is drama from the roads, starring Shystie… and also two of our boys Marcy and Hypa formally of Dynasty, but we won’t get into that just yet.
Shystie's Character is a female called Dionne aka Pressure, who is a normal girl with a big talent and ambition to match it. Her first mission - to get her Dubplate cut. The second - to get famous. It's a long road. She's going to meet plenty of people who can help her make it. And plenty of people who are going to try and hold her back. Her fate is in your hands.
In episode 1, Dionne ventures across London to visit a pirate radio station, but the visit doesn't go according to plan. Soon after Dionne stumbles upon a crew from a rival station sabotaging the rig and is drawn into a longstanding rivalry between the two crews. And it's up to you to decide what happens next.
The figures
The Sunday repeat of Dubplate Drama received 0.3million viewers and had 8% share of the total audience beating BBC1 and ITV. The figures were near the same as most flagship shows on T4.

november IS heating up
Easy People,
back from the otherside of my birthday, (happy birthday to me! from the rest of the FIP team)
Sorry for the dip in conversation, but we are back. Yes we are indeed. November is looking like a busy calender month and its more like a warm up for the crimbo season!
watch out for reports from overground, and sway at cargo (16th and 23rd respectively). Also Pro G at plan B (24th november), not to mention the massive showcase at Fabric this weekend. Should be dirtee stank for sure. Also this friday, prolific at Herbal, Shoreditch,
MJ Cole headlines introducing (as if they need one!) DJ Cameo , WOOKIE, MC B - LIVE plus QUALIFIDE plus a live p.a from XAVIER... upstairs it's CONTRAST hosted by NAPT who serve up the best estabilshed and upcoming talent in breaks. the empahsis is on variety which is reflected in music policy.... Herbal...
